Civics
As citizens and residents, we each have certain rights as well as a voice to shape the direction of our community and our country. But sometimes government, laws, rights, and obligations can seem complicated. Together, let's grow our civic knowledge and encourage each other to participate fully and confidently in our elections at the local, state, and federal level.
Through our civics programming, Well-Rounded in East Dallas provides opportunities to learn and discuss basic concepts of law, government, and citizenship. Our goal is to explain in plain language the ways in which our government works, the laws we have in place, and the rights and duties we can expect as citizens and residents. We hope these courses and discussions will help people to know their rights, better understand what they read in the news, and feel confident in forming and expressing opinions and voting in elections.
